Goals and Bending with the Wind

The work day is over but I don’t think the work ever ends. Especially when you’re fighting to find a career for yourself like I am. Sometimes I wonder how people go on day after day. Today I felt like quitting, just temporarily though. Can’t do that, have to soldier on. What if I stopped using words like fighting and soldier? I think we’re conditioned to think we always need to swim against life’s tide. What if I just go with the flow? Bend like a reed in the wind.

“The green reed which bends in the wind is stronger than the mighty oak which breaks in a storm.”
― Confucius
So there you go.

I’m going to throw down a list of goals for this week. Did I just say “throw down?” I’m sorry for that.

For work:
Figure out a quicker way to compile the information I want to post on Twitter and Facebook
Get through with 3 more parts in the BI training

For me:
Walk at least 20 minutes each day
Write a blog post everyday
Create an outline for NaNoWriMo
Get in 3 strength training sessions this week
Do some more thinking about a new topic specific blog
The previous goal goes along with this one: do more focused curating

Okay, that’s enough of that. How about that weekly writing challenge, A Splash of Color?
I was going to tack a response to the challenge at the end of this post but I think I’ll leave it until tomorrow.

Here’s another deep thought to ponder:
“The man who moves a mountain begins by carrying away small stones.”
― Confucius, Confucius: The Analects
