A Start

I wrote a post a few weeks ago about what a mess the room I call “the treadmill room” is in. I’ve taken some steps to make things better in that room, but it’s going to be slow going.

The first thing I did was unpack my Gen Con bags and then launder and put away my costumes. That was a good start. The next step was to buy one of those over-door shoe organizers. That thing is a godsend. Now I have space on the closet floor for my costume bins.

That white chest of drawers with craft stuff in it was what I wanted to tackle next, and tackle it I did today. I took the top two drawers out and brought them into the living room. I was able to group like things together (paints, glitter, and brushes became a grouping). Pencils and colored pencils were organized. Markers from Sharpie, to fine point, to thick kiddie ones were corralled. I had so many markers and colored pencils that I felt I could afford to put some in the Goodwill box. I put the paint stuff in a paper box (the kind you get from the office where you work). This freed up space in the two drawers for make-up, costume accessories, and various odds and ends that I didn’t have the energy to deal with.

The treadmill room is getting better. It’s by no means perfect, but I think I can live with it now.

I am proud of my little accomplishment on this fine Saturday!

And a bag of animals!
