Jumping in

I was once afraid to use my Cricut Explore Air™ 2 machine. I got past the fear by jumping in and trying a bunch of projects. Today, I’m not an expert, but I do okay.

I’ve identified four easy and artsy Cricut Access Premium projects to get you on the road to crafting confidence. You can use regular cardstock for all of the projects. Some call for additional materials after the cutting phase. Let’s have a look!

Leaf Print Art project

This is an abstract piece you can frame. The finished size is 18.5 “ x 17.5”. I think this would be nice in different color combinations. Search with the terms leaf art to find the project.

Popsicle Framed art project

The finished size for this piece is 9”x11.” The trio of popsicles is made with Deluxe Paper, Rob & Bob Stamped Bloom, but you can choose any paper you like. Popsicle art in the search box will bring up the project.

Materials and supplies needed

  • Pattern paper
  • Cardstock, white
  • Light grip machine mat
  • Adhesive and adhesive foam squares
  • 9″x11″ frame
One-Cut Halloween gallery art project

Start planning early with this super-easy Halloween art. The finished size is 10″x10″. Find this with the terms Halloween gallery.

Materials and supplies needed

  • Black, orange, white, and silver glitter cardstock
  • Standard grip cutting mat
  • Adhesive
  • 3 10″x10″ frames

Be somebody layer art

Create an uplifting piece of framed art to hang in your craft room or give to a friend. It’s colorful and uses your machine’s write function. The finished size is 5″x7″. Find it with the terms be somebody.

  • Cardstock–white, yellow, dark blue, blue, light blue, green

  • Adhesive foam dots
  • Shadow picture frame

Tips and tricks

Now that you have some projects in mind, there’s no reason to put off using your Cricut. Remember to read all of the instructions, make sure your materials setting is correct, keep your mat clean, and learn from your mistakes.
