I’m thankful to be in the presence of such perfection.

I made this piece with the Art Set app three years ago.

It’s funny how I like my art better once I’ve stepped away from it.

This one makes me think of outer space and a storm within the earth’s atmosphere coming together.

Space is only an illusion, isn’t it? The universe is really nonlocal. I’m ready to accept that paradigm. I’m ready for the frequency of my vibration to increase.

There’s the moon

I looked up tonight and saw the moon

But I failed to be amazed

I forgot to think about how far away it is

I didn’t stop to marvel at the vastness of the universe

I didn’t inhale deeply and express gratitude for the atmosphere

I neglected to thank the sun for its light

Moon, I promise to do better next time

Moon and stars in night sky

I have a goose

Canadian goose
Goose in my backyard

I was in the kitchen on Friday evening, and I happened to look out the atrium door. What I saw was a large bird. For a moment I thought it was a wild turkey, but I soon realized it must be a goose. I sputtered out some garbled words trying to alert my husband to our backyard visitor. He quickly came to the door and confirmed that yes, it was indeed a goose.

Pitbull/Chocolate Lab Mix

Sadie (our pit/lab mix), realizing something was going on, came to the door to have a look. I was scared she would bark and scare the goose away, but she didn’t. So the hubby and I opened the door and slipped outside. We didn’t see the goose at first, so we wondered if it had flown away. We tiptoed toward the side of the house and found the goose was still on the property. It made a few steps away from us and then took to the air.

Because I’m me, I believe the goose was a message. I have been looking for little miracles for the past couple of weeks. The Universe came through with a goose.

Here are some things that a goose can symbolize.

  • Abundance may be coming your way
  • Courage to face fears
  • Joy
  • Stability
  • Wisdom

There are plenty of sites that have information about totem or spirit animals. You can believe in that kind of thing or not.

I think the Universe (or God) sent me a goose as a way of saying, “I’m with you. Things are going to be fine.”

Sometimes it helps to have a reminder to keep the faith.

Now I’m waiting to see a cryptid like Mothman, or Bigfoot. I should probably be careful what I wish for.

Birds for Thought

She stood outside the door, holding the dog’s leash, waiting for the pretty chocolate lab to do her business. She looked up in time to see two large crows winging their way across the sky. Her eyes followed them until they were out of site. Then two more passed, and then three.
There was something profound about the way these birds floated across the sky. Maybe the profundity didn’t reside with birds, but in her observation of them. She felt that she had witnessed something holy. She didn’t have a religious practice, so holy wasn’t the right word. There was just something about experiencing those birds that made her feel connected to the universe, and to her, the universe was God. There were days when she believed in God and there were days when the existence of an all-powerful deity seemed impossible. She sometimes wondered if the universe, or if she herself was real.

The dog finished what she was doing, and responding to the tug at her leash, trotted back into the house.

A morning person

Hello universe. I’m going to tell you what I want. It’s up to you whether I get it or not. Does that sound fair? Okay.

I want to be a person who blogs regularly. To do that, I need time. I should revise that to indicate that I need quiet time. I need time to myself.

I want to make great looking jewelry, and earn an income making that jewlrey. I’m making a start on that one, but again I need time to enhance my jewelry-making skills. I also need time to make the actual jewelry.

I want to improve my belly dance skills so that my improvised performances can be better. For that I’ll need (you guessed it) time.

I want to get healthier by putting more nutritious food into my body. That means cooking more and that means time.

I want:
A clean house
To watch more film noir
To be a better Library Science student
To get a great library-related job
To create mixed media art
To create digital art
To make art journals and scrapbooks and gluebooks
To get an instructional technology certificate
Do more Yoga (do some yoga)

I’m sure there is more.

I’m convinced that the key to some of this is getting up early.

So universe, I want to be someone who can go to sleep at night, and not wake up at 3am unable to get back to sleep until 4:30 or 5:00. I want to be a morning person. I want to get up and do Yoga and write.

That’s all for now.
